I was a skinny child and a slim teenager, but when I got pregnant with my first child, I put on a lot of weight for the first time, I managed to lose it afterwards, but it was the beginning of my battle with weight.
When I got pregnant with my youngest daughter 13 years ago, I put on lots of weight again, but I told myself it was ok, I would lose it afterwards, it didn’t quite go to plan. Unfortunately, following my daughters birth, for the next 10 years, we were hit by one problem after another, financial, housing and family issues, including the death of my Dad and my Father in law within 6 months of each other. Being a typical comfort eater, I turned to food to feel better, and over the years, this became a habit. I tried every diet I could, sometimes losing a couple of stone but always giving up and gaining the weight back.
